Thursday Update

What’s planned for this Sunday (9/3/06):

We’re going to start out, right on time at 9:45, with our Power Up! activity—a Treasure Hunt! You’ll want to be on hand to share in the treasure we discover.

Our Bible story will be about King Josiah and the Lost Book. We’ll learn about how King Josiah thought the Bible was a special treasure, and how the people of Israel promised to keep God’s laws and claim His promises.

We’ll be making a special display showing the wonderful ways that the Bible has come down to us through the ages (some 4000 years!). God wrote a book, and He has protected it year after year so that we can read it today.

Don’t forget to bring your own Bible (although we’ll have one you can borrow if needed). Our memory verse will be from the longest chapter in the whole Bible (don’t worry—you don’t have to memorize the whole chapter). And we’ll try to take pictures of everyone so we can use them in weeks to come on our class computer.

We’re looking forward to meeting all our new Fourth Graders! See you there!
