Tomorrow we’ll be studying about how the Priest and Scribe Ezra read the Books of Moses (that’s the first five books of the Bible) to the people of Israel in Jerusalem. They had been captives in Babylon for 70 years, so many had forgotten about God’s Word (and had even forgotten how to read Hebrew, the language the Bible was written in.
Although the people were sad at first, because they had not been keeping God’s Word, Nehemiah and Ezra told them that this was a time for celebration, because now they knew God’s Word!
If you want a head start, you can check out the story in the book of Nehemiah, chapter 8.
You might want to practice our memory verse as well. It’s again from the longest chapter in the Bible, Psalm 119, verse 16: “I will delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.”
See you tommorrow!
