We started off the Christmas season last Sunday by learning about the promise God made through the prophets Isaiah and Micah, 700 years before Jesus was born. It was great to check out some of the Old Testament prophecies about the promised Messiah, and how they were fulfilled in the life of Jesus. God promised a Messiah, and the answer to that promise was Jesus!
This Sunday we’ll move forward to just a few months before Jesus was born. We read about angels from time to time in the rest of the Bible, but there are never so many angels as around the time of Jesus’ birth! An angel is a very special creation of God, and serves as a messenger of God.
We’ll talk about angels Sunday, and especially about the angels who told Mary and Joseph about the birth of Jesus. The next week we’ll learn about the most angels ever found in one place at the same time…all with the same message about Jesus’ birth!
Don’t forget your Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, to help our 5000 missionaries around the world in their task of telling all the peoples of the world about Jesus.
See you next week!
Mr and Mrs Cook
