Miracle of Healing: The Man Born Blind
Next Sunday we will learn about how Jesus can heal disease and illness. The story is about a man who had been born blind, whom Jesus and his disiples met in Jerusalem. Jesus made mud and placed it on the blind man’s eyes, and sent him to wash in the Pool of Siloam. The man was healed, and came back to worship Jesus.
If you want some interesting background, take a look at this article about the Pool of Siloam. Just three years ago, archaelogists discovered the Pool of Siloam in Jerusalem, covered over by streets and sidewalks. They have been working to uncover it, and it’s pretty amazing. To the right is a picture of how artists think the pool would have looked in Jesus’ day. You can see how much of it has been uncovered in the web site above.
But the important thing to know is that Jesus loved people, and He was able to heal their physical diseases. The blind man was able to see. God doesn’t heal everyone today, but He does heal some…and He has made our bodies so that they do an amazing job of healing themselves.
We’ll talk more about this Sunday. Try your best to join us—and bring a friend!
