This Sunday we will continue the story of the beginnings — also known as Genesis — with the problems of temptations and disobedience. God created everything, and He created people last. He has a plan for each person, as He did for Adam and Eve. But Adam and Eve did not follow God’s plan, and when that happens, we call it SIN.
Sin is doing and thinking things that God does not want us to, or not doing the things that God does want us to do. Eve ran into that problem with the forbidden fruit (and the Bible doesn’t say it was an apple!). We have the same problem today with other kinds of sins, when we are tempted to disobey parents, to do or say unkind things to others, to lie, to cheat, and so on.
This Sunday we will talk about how we can overcome temptation, with God’s help; and how, when we do sin, God will forgive us when we ask Him.
By the way, if you are interested in the CD game that we used last week, Awesome Bible Stories, you can order a copy from one of my favorite places, Sunday School Software. It is owned by my friend Neil MacQueen in Hilliard, and he has some really excellent Bible CD games available.
See you Sunday — and bring a friend!
