Jesus Is Alive!

After our celebration of Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, we are looking at several of the reasons we know that Jesus really did arise from the dead. Last week we learned about Cleopas and the other disciple who met Jesus on the evening of the resurrection on the road to Emmaus, walking with Him, talking with Him, and eating with Him. Next Sunday we will learn about the disciples’ seeing Jesus, and especially Thomas, who insisted that he would not believe until he could touch the wounds in Jesus’ hands and side.

Jesus did not scold Thomas, but appeared again about a week later and showed Thomas what he wanted to see. Thomas then said, “My Lord and my God!” — he recognized that Jesus really was alive, and knew for sure that He had risen from the dead.

It’s really great to know for sure that Jesus is alive, and that because He is, we can worship Him and be sure that we can believe in Him and live with Him forever.

See you Sunday—and this would be a great week to bring a friend!
