We welcome a brand new class of Fourth Graders next Sunday! We’re looking foward to a great new year together. Hopefully you already have received your letter telling you that we’re excited that you will be in our class. Don’t forget to bring your information sheet so we can find out more about you.
This month in Fourth Grade Sunday School we’ll be learning about a new subject—the names of God in the Old Testament! You probably know many different names for Jesus, like Wonderful, Counselor, etc. But there are lots of names in the Old Testament for God as well, and we don’t study those very often.
The great thing about names is that they usually tell us something important about the person who has the name…and this is especially true about God. From some of your favorite stories in the Old Testament, we’ll learn five different names of God this month and about what great things they let us know about who God is and what He’s like. It’s awesome!
This Sunday we’ll look at the Hebrew words for the name God told Moses to call Him at the burning bush. Remember that story? We’ll even see how it looks in Hebrew.
We hope you can be with us starting on our very first day…and you can even bring a friend along if you wish! See you Sunday!
