What Is It?

Do you usually like foods you have never tried before? Lots of kids don’t, but often they are missing out on some really great tastes. The Israelites were hungry enough in the wilderness that they didn’t have any problem trying out the new food that God provided for them, but they called it “what is it?” (in Hebrew, that sounds like “manna” ). Next week we’ll learn about the rules that went with this new food from heaven…and how long the Israelites ate it.

Our name of God for this week will be “Jehovah Jireh,” which means in Hebrew, “The Lord our Provider.” You may have heard the song about this name of God, and perhaps we’ll have time to sing it this Sunday. God provided for the needs of the Israelites, and He provides for our needs today, too. As you get ready for Sunday, think about some of the ways God provides for your needs…through nature, through other people, and in many other ways as well.

See you Sunday…and think about inviting a friend!
