God our Shepherd

Sheep were pretty important in Bible days. They can live on very poor land if their shepherd helps them find food and water and takes care of them. Lots of people in the Bible were shepherds at one point in their lives…Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and David were just some of them. And Jesus was called “the Good Shepherd.”

This Sunday we’ll learn about Jehovah Rohi, God our Shepherd. David, King of Israel, is the focus of our story. David learned a lot about God as he grew up taking care of his father’s sheep. He wrote the Twenty-Third Psalm (“The Lord is my Shepherd” ) about how God had taken care of David himself as a shepherd takes care of his sheep.

I hope you enjoyed the “silent movies” that we made last week about Naaman. I’m putting them together so you can see the results of your acting this Sunday. They look pretty good!

Bring along a friend to see your talents!
