Worship is an important activity…perhaps the most important thing we can do. One way to think about worship is that it lets us tell about the worth-ship of God. God is worth much more than anyone or anything else. He is perfect in everything that He is or does. His love for each of us is perfect, and His knowledge is perfect. His power is perfect, so we know He can take care of us.
During October, we will be learning from four Old Testament people that we can worship God in many ways, but especially that we can worship God at church. This week we will learn about a king of Judah named Hezekiah (no, there’s no book of the Bible named Hezekiah!). His father had been a bad king and had even swiped some of the gold from the temple to bribe other countries. The temple, where the Jewish people worshiped God, was dirty and broken. Worse, the people were worshiping other gods than the One True God.
When Hezekiah became king, he worked to repair the temple and lead the people back to the worship of the One True God. He was one of the best kings that Judah had.
Come learn with us Sunday about how Hezekiah and the Jewish people worshiped God, and how we can worship Him today with other Christians at church.
Don’t forget to bring a friend!
