Jesus Is Born!

The time is right! The world is at peace (for a short while); everyone can speak the Greek language; God has made a promise, and now it’s time to keep it!

God gets all the pieces of the puzzle together. He gets Caesar Augustus, Emperor of Rome, to arrange for Mary and Joseph to have to go to Bethlehem for Jesus to be born, just as He told Micah. The Magi study the stars and see that a King is being born, so they start their journey to Bethlehem. All the angels are waiting for their cues to tell the Good News to the shepherds. The whole world is waiting for the Savior to be born.

This Sunday we will focus on the birth of Jesus, the events that we actually celebrate on Christmas Eve night. It’s the event that started year 1 on our the calendar system we use today (A.D. stands for Latin Anno Domini, meaning the year of our Lord. Jesus fulfilled more than 300 Old Testament prophecies, and His birth began a life which showed us what God is like and how to live as God intended, and a death which would pay for our sins and win us eternal life.

Let’s celebrate Jesus’ birthday together this week! It is our Christmas party, so please try to bring a friend to join with us. We will be making a special Christmas tree ornament, and you will receive a wrapped Christmas gift as well as share our refreshments, view and hear the Christmas story, and sing some of your favorite Christmas songs.

See you Sunday!
