There are lots of things that we cannot do by ourselves…we need help from our parents, our friends, our teachers, or others. But there are ways that each of us can help other people, as well. That’s what we’ll be talking about next Sunday: helping other people. Our memory verse is known as the Golden Rule: “Just as you want others to do for you, do the same for them.” (Luke 6:31).
The story is about the prophet Elisha and a woman who helped him by giving him food and a special place to stay while he traveled around Israel telling God’s story. Elisha wanted to help her in return, and the story is about how he did that. Helping others pleases God, and it also makes our lives easier and more enjoyable.
Sunday is also our Valentine’s Day party—we’ll have refreshments, games, and a good time with our friends. Invite someone to come enjoy the party with us!
