Remember, God gave us the Bible to teach us how to have the best possible lives—lives that are pleasing to Him and best for us as well. We can learn from the story of Jacob and Esau many things about now not to treat others in our family. Jacob took advantage of his twin brother Esau, and lied and cheated to get the blessing that God had promised to him already. But God still kept His promise to Jacob, the same promise He had made to his grandfather Abraham and his father Isaac.
Still, because of his cheating, Jacob had to leave home and travel far away, and live in fear of what his brother would do to him if he returned. God kept His promise in the end, but Jacob had to pay the price for not trusting God.
This Sunday would be a great day to bring a friend with you!
