Church Then and Now

Unit Thrust
As we begin the new calendar year of 2010, we turn to the Bible teachings on the church. We will learn about the beginning of the church and what children can do today to participate in the life and work of the church--working, praying, giving, and telling others.

January 3: Come Together

	Scripture: Acts 2
	Memory Verse: The churches were strengthened in the faith and were increased in number daily. -- Acts 16:15
	Life Application: I can thank God for my church

January 10: Work Together

	Scripture: Acts 3-4:22
	Memory Verse: We are God's co-workers. -- 1 Corinthians 3:9
	Life Application: I can be a part of the work of my church.

January 17: Help People

	Scripture: Acts 6:1-7
	Memory Verse: Serve one another through love. -- Galatians 5:13
	Life Application: I can pray for leaders in my church

January 24: Give Offerings

	Scripture: Acts 11:19-30
	Memory Verse: God loves a cheerful giver. -- 2 Corinthians 9:7
	Life Application: I can give offerings to my church.

January 31: Tell About Jesus

	Scripture: Acts 13:1-5, 13-16, 46-49
	Memory Verse Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations. -- Matthew 28:19
	Life Application: I can tell others about Jesus
