God Has Power

Unit Thrust
Beginning the final quarter of this school year, we learn about the Power of God. Expressed in four Old Testament stories, we will see God's power in the lives of Joshua (fall of Jericho), David (defeat of Goliath), Elijah (protection from Jezebel), and Jonah (power to forgive).

June 5: God Does Miracles

	Scripture: Joshua 6:1-21
	Memory Verse: Lord my God, You have done many things--Your wonderful works and Your plans for us. -- Psalm 40:5
	Life Application: I can recognize some of God's miracles.

June 12: God Gives Power

	Scripture: 1 Samuel 17:1-50
	Memory Verse: I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me. -- Philippians 4:13
	Life Application: I can trust God to give me the power to do what He wants me to do.

June 19: God Protects

	Scripture: 1 Kings 19:1-18
	Memory Verse: God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble. -- Psalm 46:1
	Life Application: I can trust God to protect me.

June 26: God Forgives

	Scripture: Jonah
	Memory Verse: You are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate. -- Nehemiah 9:17
	Life Application: I can ask God to forgive me when I disobey Him.
