Help! I can't see my story

Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is using a proxy server to get information from the internet for you. This means that they store a copy of the information you ask for and when you go to ask for it the next time, it just gives you the copy, rather than getting it from the internet again. They do this to so to save you time.

When you submit a story, it is written to a story file on our server. However when you go to view your story, your ISP doesn't provide you with the latest story file and you are actually looking at an old story file.

What can you do:

bulletYou can wait one or two days and then go back to storyteller to see if your story is there. Most proxy servers refresh the file once a day
bulletSome ISP actually do not refresh the files!  If this happens, you can do this:
  1. Click on the story file that you submitted to (below).
  2. Don't worry if it doesn't look like a web page.
  3. Press the reload / refresh button on your web browser.
  4. Press the back button on your browser to come back here and then press it again to go back to the Storyteller page.
  5. Click the "Reload List" button on the Java applet. You should see your name at the bottom of the list now.
